Fitness Policies

Studio Policies

  • The Cornerstone Studio is built around creating a safe and happy space for every person who steps inside the door. We ask that everyone adopts The Cornerstone Studio spirit, and treat others the way they would want to be treated. If a participant ever feels that a safe and welcoming environment is not being maintained, please speak to a staff member.
  • The Cornerstone Studio is not liable for any injury that may occur during a participant’s time spent at the studio. 
  • The Cornerstone Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
  • The Cornerstone Studio reserves the right to refuse service and deny entry.
  • The use of cameras or electronic devices is forbidden in the dressing rooms or during class. Mobile phones must be set to silent mode or turned off during class time. 
  • Food and beverages (with the exception for water) are not permitted in any studio at any time. The Cornerstone Studio is not a guaranteed peanut/nut-free environment.
  • Gum chewing is not permitted in class at any time.

Class Policies

  • All fees are subject to 13% HST.
  • All fees are non-refundable or transferrable.
  • The Cornerstone Studio accepts Mastercard, Visa, Debit, and Cash.
  • The Cornerstone Studio reserves the right to place a participant in a specific class, to ensure appropriate skill and fitness level.
  • All adult classes are designed for participants 18 years of age or older. Participants who are 15-17 years of age may request to participate in an adult class, however one personal training assessment with a Cornerstone Studio trainer must be completed before being deemed eligible to participate, alongside a signed Parental waiver by a parent or guardian.
  • All Cornerstone Studio Trainers have the right to deny a participant from enrolling in or continuing any fitness program, should they believe a participant’s health and/or medical condition prohibits or hinders their own physical safety in any way, or the safety of others.
  • The Cornerstone Personal Trainer has the right to deny any student from continuing in any fitness class, and make personal training sessions mandatory, if at any time they feel that the participants’ health/ medical medical condition, or physical considerations prohibit them from proper and safe participation in the physical group training regiments.

Participant Expectations

  • Participants must arrive a minimum of 5 minutes prior to class wearing appropriate athletic attire. Late entry will not be permitted.
  • All fitness classes require clean, indoor, non-marking shoes, with exception to Stretch & Tone Barre and Core Blast classes.
  • The Cornerstone Studio reserves the right to withdraw registration for inappropriate or offensive behaviour.

Class Cards

  • A two (2) week unlimited introductory class card shall expire two weeks from its date of purchase. A five (5) class card shall expire three (3) months from its date of purchase. A ten (10) class card shall expire six (6) months from its date of purchase. A twenty (20) class card shall expire twelve (12) months from its date of purchase. 
  • Any cancellations due to illness shall comply with the illness policy outlined above.

1 Month Memberships 

  • Participants who register for the Unlimited One (1) Month Class Membership can drop into an unlimited number of adult classes.
  • All fees are subject to 13% HST.
  • All fees are non-refundable or transferrable.
  • All pre-registration and cancellations shall comply with the policies outlined above.
  • Any cancellations due to illness shall comply with the illness policy outlined above.

6 Month Memberships

  • Clients who register for the Unlimited Class Membership can drop into an unlimited number of adult classes. 
  • By purchasing a six (6) month membership, the participant shall agree to and accept all of the terms of the membership contract, and be bound by those terms for the duration of the membership contract. The membership contract shall be in force for six (6) months from the Contract Start Date. The contract cannot be cancelled during the six (6) month period. 
  • By entering a six (6) month membership, the participant agrees to pay the Cornerstone Studio a monthly membership fee of $169.00 per month, which shall be automatically charged via the participant’s pre-authorized credit card.
  • All fees are subject to 13% HST.
  • All fees are non-refundable or transferrable.
  • Payment of the monthly membership fee by any means other than the participant’s credit card shall not be permitted.
  • If a credit card payment is declined, the participant shall be notified of the missed payment, and a 5-day grace period shall be given during which point the participant must settle their balance. If payments have not been made within the 5-day grace period, a $25 late fee will be charged.
  • Any cancellations due to illness shall comply with the illness policy outlined above.
  • The contract can be put on hold once for a minimum of 7 days, and a maximum of 2 weeks. The number of days held, will be added to as additional time at the end of the six (6) month contract.
  • All pre-registration and cancellations shall comply with the policies outlined above.
  • Any cancellations due to illness shall comply with the illness policy outlined above.

12 Month Memberships

  • Clients who register for the Unlimited Class Membership can drop into an unlimited number of adult classes. 
  • By purchasing a twelve (12) month membership, the participant shall agree to and accept all of the terms of the membership contract, and be bound by those terms for the duration of the membership contract. The membership contract shall be in force for twelve (12) months from the Contract Start Date. The contract cannot be cancelled during the twelve (12) month period.
  • By entering a twelve (12) month membership, the participant agrees to pay the Cornerstone Studio a monthly membership fee of $129.00 per month, which shall be automatically renewed via the participant’s pre-authorized credit card.
  • All fees are subject to 13% HST.
  • All fees are non-refundable or transferrable.
  • Payment of the monthly membership fee by any means other than the participant’s credit card shall not be permitted.
  • If a credit card payment is declined, the participant shall be notified of the missed payment, and a 5-day grace period shall be given during which point the participant must settle their balance. If payments have not been made within the 5-day grace period, a $25 late fee will be charged.

SCREENING

  • All fitness class participants must have a Cornerstone Studio Online Contact Tracing screening form completed prior to each time they enter the studio. The contact tracing form is easily accessible on our website, under Classes>Contact Tracing. 
  • Contact tracing form MUST be submitted no later than 1 hour prior to the class start time. Contact tracing forms must be submitted for day each class, within the 24 hour window of the class start time.
  • Participants who have not submitted the form will not be permitted to enter the studio or attend class.
  • Screening forms must be completed with honesty and full disclosure. Participants who answer “yes” to any question on the Contact Tracing form will not be permitted to attend, or return to the studio, until symptoms subside.

Participant Expectations

  • Participants must arrive a minimum of 10 minutes prior to class. Participants should not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to the class, as no waiting is permitted in the foyer.
  • Participants who arrive late will not be permitted to attend class.
  • Participants should arrive dressed in their appropriate athletic attire, and must bring their clean indoor shoes, a water bottle, a mat and a small towel. *Indoor shoes are not required for Barre, Core Blast, Pilates or Yoga classes.
  • Participants should not bring more than 1 bag (if needed) containing all of their belongings. Shoes or other belongings cannot be stored at the studio.
  • The water fountain is off limits, with exception to the touch-less water refill.
  • All change rooms are closed.
  • Participants must wear a mask or face covering upon entering the studio, and during all times, except for while in their designated stationary spot during class. While exercising, masks are not required.
  • Once the class is complete, masks should be put back on while participants sanitize and put away their equipment, and exit the building.
  • Participants must leave the studio in a timely manner once class is complete. Participants are not permitted to stay in the studio longer than needed after class.

Risk

  • By attending class, you understand the risk involved, and the possibility of being exposed to and/ or contracting COVID-19.
  • Pre-registration for all classes is mandatory. Class registrations can be made through the online portal on the Cornerstone Studio website, or by emailing register@cornerstonestudio.ca. TELEPHONE PRE-REGISTRATION SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED.
  • Class capacity will be limited, to ensure social distance is possible, with no exceptions.
  • Classes must have a minimum of 3 students pre-registered, by the deadlines listed below, in order to run.
  • Morning classes: by 6pm the evening prior,
  • Evening classes: by 10am on the same day.
  • CLASS WILL BE CANCELLED if minimum registration is not met by the above deadlines.
  • Class registration will be permitted up until 1 hour prior to class, given the class is running, and there is availability.

If a class is cancelled:

  • If minimum pre-registration is not met in any given class by the deadlines, an e-mail shall be sent out to all members and class card holders indicating that the class has been cancelled, by the following times:
  • Morning Classes: cancellation email will be sent by 8 PM the evening prior
  • Evening classes: cancellation email will be sent by 3PM on the day of.

How to Cancel attendance after Pre-Registration: 

  • To cancel or change a participant’s pre-registration, they must email register@cornerstonestudio.ca by the pre-registration deadlines listed above.
  • Any attempt to cancel pre-registration by means of communication other than e-mail will not be accepted.
  • Cancellations due to illness/ injury will require a dated physician’s note, and will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis.

Late Cancellations or No Shows:

  • If a client does not attend a pre-registered class, and has not sent a cancellation email by the listed deadlines above, a penalty fee will be charged to the client, as listed below:

DROP IN CLASSES OR CLASS CARDS:

  • Cancellations made past the deadline, or no shows will be charged the full cost of their class. Missed classes will not be refunded.

INTRO PASS HOLDERS, UNLIMITED MEMBERSHIPS OR FITNESS CHALLENGERS:

  • Cancellations made past the deadline, or no shows will be charged $15.00 per missed class.

Registration

  • Bookings for personal training or small group sessions can be made in advance, in person, by phone during office hours, or by emailing register@cornerstonestudio.ca, pending trainer and instructor availability.
  • Bookings are not considered complete until payment is received, registration forms are signed and all waivers are submitted.
  • The Cornerstone Studio reserves the right to cancel classes at any time.
  • The Cornerstone Studio reserves the right to decline re-enrolment.
  • It is your responsibility to keep the office up to date with all phone, email, emergency contact and billing information.

Fees and Payments

  • Payments for personal training and small group sessions are due in full at the time of the booking.
  • All fees are subject to 13% HST.

All fees are non-refundable. Cheques cannot be accepted for personalized classes.

  • If a credit card payment is declined, a 5-day grace period will be placed during which point the client must settle their balance. If payments have not been made within the 5-day grace period, a $25 late fee will be charged.

Cancellation policies

  • All personal training and small group training cancellations must be made a minimum of 48-hours prior to appointment start time. Cancellations must be made through administration. Notifying the trainer directly is not considered a valid cancellation. Cancellations can be done in person or by phone only during office hours. Cancellations made by voicemail are not valid. Cancellations made outside of office hours must be made by email to register@cornerstonestudio.ca. Cancellations made less than 48-hours in advance will not be credited.
  • All fees are non-refundable. 
  • Missed classes will not be made up.
  • Cancellations due to illness/ injury will require a dated physician’s note, and will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis.
  • Classes cancelled by The Cornerstone Studio due to Acts of God are non-refundable.
  • Other cancellations made by The Cornerstone Studio will be made-up or credited appropriately.
